Buy Cheap UFO Reusable Suction Lid and Food Cover - Round Set of 5
Buy Low Price From Here Now Round, flexible and lightweight the UFO serves to protect food by keeping it airtight inside the container, creating a vacuum effect. It fits to every type of pan and container and can be used on every type of surface including glass, metal, plastic and ceramics. Made of 100% food grade silicone material that is safe for use in the freezer, refrigerator, room temperature, microwave and oven and is dishwasher safe. The lid remains perfectly functional at all temperatures between -76 degrees F and +446 degrees F (-60C and +230C), is UV resistant and does not deteriorate over time. Made in Italy by Silikomart, a premier European supplier of silicone baking moulds and accessories. Silikomarts products are carefully tested and are FDA and CE compliant. UFO silicone food covers are an optimal multi-use alternative to traditional single use products like plastic transparent film, plastic zip bags and aluminum foil, which all present several inconveniences. Transparent film easily twists and sticks together, does not always seal to the container and sometimes does not cover the full width of a container. Plastic film or bags should not be used in a microwave and cannot be used in the oven. Aluminum foil is not airtight, deteriorates when touching acidic foods like tomato sauce and is not microwavable.

"Good concept, wish they worked better." 2010-09-05

I ordered the set of 5 UFO reusable food covers with high hopes they would solve our problem of many glass containers with missing or broken lids. I am disappointed they do not work as well as I had hoped. They do cover a large variety of container sizes and are great for covering food in the microwave. It is sometimes hard to get the suction to start with, and it seems every time I open my fridge the suction is gone and the lid is just sitting on top of the bowl. I am amazed at the strong suction when they do work, but any small touch to any side of the lid overhanging the bowl and the suction is gone. That makes it very hard to pack my fridge full if I can't have any of the lids touching anything else. Very disappointed I spent over $50 for what I will now mostly use as microwave lids.

I cook big meals on the weekend, and enjoy leftovers during the week. I wanted to stop using so much plastic wrap with the leftovers. These lids are perfect. Sometimes moisture causes the vacuum seal to release, especially as the food cools, but it's always at least as tight as plastic wrap. You can also just press down on the center again to reset the vacuum seal. I highly recommend them!

We are in the process of eliminating all of our old plastic Tupperware containers. With the concern of plastic containers leaking BPA into our foods, the UFO covers are an excellent alternative for food storage.
We use our existing glass and ceramic bowls to store food without worrying about unwanted chemicals. We highly recommend the UFO covers and Coverflex products.
"So many uses!" 2009-11-30

These lids are really versatile! We have the full set and use them constantly. My favorite use is for the microwave. They are great for covering bowls, either to steam veggies or eliminate the splatter that occurs with pasta, soup and other warmups. They eliminate the "sponging out" of the microwave that's usually needed after heating those kind of dishes. The larger ones are great for keeping a salad fresh when you assemble it in advance. Push on the center and have a good vacuum seal. You can also use the UFOs to keep serving dishes warm on the table as the lid keeps in the heat of the dish. With our UFOs and Coverflex we rarely use plastic wrap or aluminum foil anymore.
