Very happy to receive this set. Pans are 10", 8" and 7" in diameter. They went well, colorwise, with my caramel lodge cast iron pot. First thing I noticed was the uneven surface. With all of the enamel iron castware I have purchased, I never witnessed this. I figured its ok. @2nd thing and absolute disgrace was, using a light coat of oil just to heat up some food, and the enamel started chipping...I mean really chipping off. As one reviewer stated this is one layer enamel and a very poor quality, to boot. I have had my 1.5 quart Kinetic cast iron saucepan, that looks exactly the same style as these, for about 7 moinths now. I have fried in it plenty of times and its still going strong. Buy these if you only plan to boil water in them or heat up some food, without oil.

I purchased these pans about a week ago, and I've been making scrambled eggs in the largest one every single day since I bought them. This morning I put the eggs in like normal and walked over to the sink to grab a cutting board; thank goodness I turned away because I heard a LOUD POP and then another LOUD POP. I jumped out of my skin. The enamel had exploded off quite violently, and there was enamel shrapnel all over the stovetop and contaminating all of my food. I bought these pans to get away from using toxic Teflon but exploding enamel is hardly safer.

I bought the set in January 09 because I wanted to return to cast iron enamel cookware and replace my teflon coated pans. I notied some small imperfections in the enamel when I got it, but nothing prepared me for the cracking and flaking of the enamel a few months later. By August the enamel in the larger pan had flaked off in the center during cooking and is now unusable. My father was an enamel chemist and I have been exposed to enamel cookware all my life and certainly understand and respect the medium. But I have never experienced such a poor quality. Cheap means inexpensive to purchase, but not lasting - therefore, expensive in the long run - disappointing.

When I got my skillet set, it was everything I wanted & more. Color as described; ( I Got Red....BEAUTIFUL), porcelain enamel, non stick. They are heavy however & that may be a problem for some people. The only downside for me is the cleaning.They Will Spot & Can Easily Be Scratched.
You have to hand wash & dry them right away & you have to be careful of not scratching them when washing & storing. I hang my pans & these cannot touch each other or they will scratch. For the Price they are exceptional & I would recommend them.
