 "Very good non-stick fryer" 2010-05-31
By Deborah Bleviss (Northern Virginia)
I have not used this fryer very much yet, but it is very easy to use, with no obvious problems with its non-stick interior. Cooking is very even. It can be a bit heavy if you want to pour the contents of the pan out.

 "Great Saute Pan" 2010-05-19

We finally upgraded the kitchen and installed an induction cooktop. (Running a gas line was impractical.) Induction requires ferrous metal cookware (a magnet will stick to it) that is perfectly flat on the bottom. We needed an 11" saute pan to cook five or six chicken breasts at one time that is "non-stick". We use it 4-5 times a week. Try to find an 11" pan that is non-stick and not aluminum! The Henckels pan is fantastic! Delivery from Amazon Prime was exactly as expected (two days). The pan was nicely packed in a Henckels box inside the Amazon box. Inside the box, the pan was in a fabric bag. The finish is brilliant. The bottom is perfectly flat. The non-stick coating works great. It goes in the oven. 11" is a BIG pan and can get heavy when fully loaded. The helper handle makes it easy to move, for example to put it in the oven and take it back out again. We could not ask for more!

 "great pan" 2009-11-17

I love this size of pan & use it almost daily (from pancakes to chili). Things that I like about the pan:

-pan is oven safe to a high temperature (500, if I remember correctly)

-the handles stay cool for quite a while on the stove top (the exception is with long simmer)

-tight fitting lid

-nice weight (but not too heavy)

-very easy clean-up (hand wash)

-distributes heat evenly (much better than the cheap non-stick 5 qt pan I had previously)

I have had the pan a few weeks & haven't encountered any problems. I hope this pan will last a while. We'll see.

 "Great Pan" 2009-08-16

I'm not a big fan of non stick pans due to bad experiences in the past but finally broke down and got this one because of the lifetime warranty and the need for something that can handle certain frying tasks without instigating a horrific cleanup. I have to say the pictures don't do it justice: this thing is BIG and made very well. The handle is hollow but sealed and the pan is very 'meaty' and heavy but not overly so. After using it a few times already I had discovered that this thing is a real jewel and heats evenly without the need for excessive temperatures. Overall? HIGHLY recommended.

Some of these are pretty common knowledge but here are a few pointers to keep in mind when you own a pan like this:

Don't use metallic utensils. (Use wood, nylon or high temperature plastic)

Don't preheat before use.

Don't use at any temperature over medium. (Trust me, you won't need to)

Don't run through the dishwasher. (Even if the instructions say otherwise)

Don't allow water to stand in the pan for any length of time when not in use.

Don't wash when it's hot. Just use a paper towel to wipe clean and wash later when things cool off.

Don't stack your non stick pans, especially this one being the size it is. These things tend to peal first from the upper rim and if you stack these you are asking for it.

This may seem like a lot but it's nothing when you consider the pain and suffering involved with cleaning up stainless steel frying pans after a bad frying experience.

Hope this helps and happy cooking!
