This one quart saucepan by Ballarini proves that remarkably well constructed cookware can still be bought at reasonable prices. The saucepan/pot is made using aluminum and the enamel exterior proves that this is no ordinary piece of cookware! Naturally, this pot's primarily use is as a saucepan; but its depth lets me use it also as an all purpose pot. I live alone and make pasta for one now and then; and I find this pot to be the perfect size for boiling the water and then cooking the pasta.



The grooved tracks on the underside of the pot impress me greatly: they enable the heat to quickly become evenly distributed under the pot, just as Amazon notes. This saves energy as well--the contents of the pot (or saucepan) get hot faster. It's green!



The ergonomic phenolic handle is indeed easy to grip but although Amazon says you could try to wash this pot in the dishwasher, I personally would hand wash it only. You can use dishwashing liquid soap like Dawn to get it clean; and a Brillo pad doesn't seem to affect the interior of the pan at all when removing food residue. If you must, however, you can wash this in the dishwasher.



It comes with a five year warranty but I highly doubt you'll ever need it. Mine must be languishing in a closet somewhere around my home! It's very well constructed; you can tell just by the feel of it.



Overall, Ballarini makes an incredibly useful and versatile saucepan that also can be used as a plain old pot. Great! The price is right and the warranty impresses me. Get one of these today and use it in good health!

I have now been using one or both of these pans on a daily basis for almost a year. They are easy to clean and the finish has not chipped (I usually use bamboo or wooden utensils to stir), even though I have gone shopping and seen similar pots on sale unused with chips. I do use a "flame tamer" when making rice or things that are thick such as chili so that the food on the bottom doesn't brown or burn--the pans are one thickness and get too hot on the bottom without the flame tamer. But the pans are fine used alone when I cooking soups or vegetables. These pans provide an economical and useful tool for those who want to avoid using aluminum or even stainless steel pots, which is why I switched. They come without lids, but I prefer Corning glass lids and have them already in sizes that fit the pans. I also bought a larger one of these graniteware pots; it came with a matching lid, but I prefer to use the glass one instead.

I am pretty happy with this Revere Traditions saucepan. It is not that heavy a pan though and does not conduct heat as well as my heavier, more expensive pans. The Tri-ply bottom helps though, if it did not have that bottom it would not work well. I have used it every day since I got it so it is serving me well.

I've used the copper bottomed Revere saucepans forever (grew up with my mom using them too). They're great for everyday uses that don't require a heavy pan to control the heat precisely, which is nearly everything you use a saucepan for. I only pull out my Calphalon saucepan once in a blue moon. Anyway, after 10+ years I contrived to destroy my 1 quart pan by boiling it dry and forgetting about it for a while. I actually managed to get the copper for peel off. I was just going to get a replacement but saw these Revere 2000 pans and thought I'd give one a try. So far I'm quite happy with it. I haven't tried anything too finicky to see if it performs noticeably different from the copper-bottomed pans, but for the everyday tasks I generally use this pan for (heating a bit of sauce, boiling a few veggies, etc.) it works great and I don't have to worry about the copper discoloring (and then getting shiny again when I spill a bit of tomato sauce or lemon on it).
