It looks good and works just fine. Seems well made. The eggs don't stick at all.

 "Easy and versatile" 2010-02-17
By Shagrat
This pan combo works exactly as described and is so easy to use. The individual cups are perfect to remove eggs as they finish, but beware of the steam vent holes and don't burn your fingers (hint turn the cup handles to the outside when you start). The pan can also be used without the insert so it is dual purpose. Sturdy enough for home use and the clear lid makes watching the eggs easy. I choose to hand wash mine but it is dishwasher safe.

"Does the job but not the most sturdy pan in my cabinet" 2010-01-01
By Brooke (DURHAM, New Caledonia)
This pan reminds me of the somewhat flimsy items you can find in supermarkets -- bright and shiny but not built last. The handle has no heft, and the egg cups and frame seem unlikely to last for long. I suppose that's the best you can get for $30 these days. However, after trying the cute little silicone egg poachers also available at Amazon, I was much happier with the egg-cooking experience using this pan. The eggs cooked evenly and there was no difficulty with water boiling up over the sides of the cups, as is the case with the silcone versions.

Update -- one week later: I pulled one of the egg cups out of the dishwasher and watched the little handle/knob bounce away. The screw holding it had come loose during the wash cycle. Being smaller than the screen at the bottom of my machine, the screw must have disappeared down the drain. So, now I have to make the time to visit the hardware store to see if I can find a replacement. What a nuisance! I'm dropping my rating from 3 down to 2 stars for this.

By C. Schuff (St Louis, MO)
This product was very hard for me to find in a reasonable price range. I wasn't sure whether I would like this product or not, so I was looking for a cheap one. All I can say is, you get what you pay for. The product works well but the caps that screw on are loose and depending on how I prepare my eggs, they start squirting out from under the caps. This is on both products that I bought and I even tried switching the caps between the two and the same thing happens. If you are truly interested in this kind of product, I suggest paying more for a better one but this would be a good starter product to "test" out.

 "The perfect egg cup" 2010-02-03
By James Beswick (Los Angeles, CA)
Elegant, stylish and - most importantly - holds an egg with a serving of salt. This was one of the hit gifts at Christmas, and has been used time and time again. Getting the salt into the shaker can take a little work, but otherwise this is the best "integrated" egg cup I've ever used, and I get countless compliments on the styling.

 "For the perfect egg!" 2009-11-16

I ordered two of these and I love them. Everything you need to enjoy that perfect soft-boiled egg...all in one dish. I have other egg cups, but this is the one I find most convenient to use. My other cups now just sit on the shelf looking cute and gathering dust. And it's pretty enough for serving guests too...I plan on ordering a couple more. Pricey, but worth it.

 "Quality product" 2010-03-13
By T. S. Shropshire (Eagle, WI USA)
I've tried other egg poachers, but none of them are as good as this. It is well made, sturdy and gives perfect results every time I use it ...which is often. I purchased the Nordic Non-stick 10" egg poacher. A huge mistake, it began losing the non-stick coating after the first use. It became unusable after using it a few times. The eggs cooked unevenly and stuck to the surface even when I used Pam spray or butter. Get this product instead and you will be pleased. I hope this helps.

 "Best ever!" 2010-02-18
By Phebe Vance (Northeast Wisconsin)
As devotees of poached eggs, we have tried a number of poachers. This is the best ever. We use a bit of sprayed oil and have never had trouble with with sticking eggs or clean up. The egg holding tray is up a bit higher above the bottom of the pan than most poachers, which we like. While we were not especially interested in having to buy a whole pan, etc., in this case, we are very glad we did! Enjoy!

 "Egg poacher skillet set" 2010-01-09

This is a great set. My husband is the primary "egg poacher" in our family and with this set, he makes a "mean" poached egg. I would definitely recommend this.

 "Disappointing quality" 2010-01-04
By D. Cross
I've had this pan just over 3 months and have only used it a few times. Already the finish is coming off the bottom of the skillet. It is coated with a very thin layer of nonstick coating, which is not durable at all and not high quality. I have always washed it by hand, not in the dishwasher, so it hasn't been exposed to harsh conditions, other than boiling water on the stovetop. Other than that, the poachers work well, don't stick, and so far are not starting to peel.

 "Almost perfect" 2009-06-09
By P. Springer (Rochester, MN)
This is a very nice product. The only complaint is that the cups that hold the eggs are molded into the pan. Our last poacher had removable cups with a little tab-like handle. This made it much easier to remove the eggs.

"Perfect poached eggs every time!" 2010-03-14
By Judy Squires
We are so pleased with our stainless steel 5 cup egg poacher. It makes perfect poached eggs every time whether you make 1 or 5! It is the only egg poacher with stainless steel cups that I was able to find. I did not want teflon since I have read about the dangerous toxins that come from teflon when heated. (15 lawsuits against Dupont) All you have to do is spray a small dot of Pam and then coat the entire surface of the cup by spreading it with your finger. Add a small pat of real butter for flavor if you prefer. My husband is so pleased, as he really enjoyed poached eggs when he was growing up. Worth the price. Sturdy and well constructed.Norpro Krona 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quality product!

"Norpro Krona 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set: worth the money" 2010-02-10
By L. Bornwasser (louisville, ky)
I have a glass stove and was frustrated that my old egg poacher did not cook the eggs enough and that it was not large enough. This cooker is definitely worth the extra money in a number of ways. 1. Now I don't have to try out other cookers. 2. It really cooks the eggs well and evenly. 3. The eggs are so much easier to remove when done. 4. Clean-up is easier and better.

My only complaint is that the pan shows water spots after cleaning, but that is easily solved.

"No more toxic smell on my eggs." 2010-01-17
By John W. Albert (New Lenox, IL United States)
I recently purchased a brand name an egg poacher from a local kitchen and bath store. The egg cups were made of plastic and the first time I used it there was a toxic smell when I removed the top. The egg had a strange taste. It was an American company but the product was made in China. I never poached an egg since. Then I purchased the Norpro Krona. The cups are made of stainless steel and the grips are bakelite. The cups are easy to clean and there's no toxic smell when you poach an egg.

 "Great Poacher" 2010-01-12
By Margaree E. Nadler
I have never owned a poacher before and only bought this one because my daughter loves poached eggs and can't get the art of swirling the egg in boiling water down. I've never used non-stick pans and the one I owned bummed me out on too many levels, so I was not happy about buying an egg poacher to avoid the art of poaching an egg correctly. This one doesn't have any of that no stick stuff on it, so that was enough to try it. It actually turned out to be a pretty good investment. She poaches her eggs in it, I leave mine a little longer and it replaces my fried egg. The pan is a basic, cheezy pan but it's not made of aluminum...the only thing I would choose non-stick over...and it works well. You can remove the poachers and use it as a frying pan, but, in all honesty, the handle attachment doesn't look particularly sturdy. I guess it is riveted...or they made dents so it would look like it was. For all I know, it's super glued on, but it hasn't given out under the weight of the water, so it might be okay as a fryer. I haven't had any trouble with burning myself, although I don't trust anything that's been engulfed with steam, so I do use the edge of a towel when removing the cups. The top is actually pretty nice, but the handle is metal...that's preferred, but not something I would rush over and grab. The eggs slide out...but I pour olive oil in each cup and cover the entire surface before I use it. The pan washes up nicely and goes back in the cabinet looking new each time. I was too lazy to wash it right after I used it once, and threw it in the dishwasher...washed up great. It's a great pan for what it is and does the job well. I gave it a five because it is priced very fairly, the quality being in the performance, even though the handle makes me a little nervous.

Customer Buzz
"Sorry, but this poacher sucks for the following reasons:" 2010-01-10
By Paul Crook (Boulder, CO USA)
1. When I wash the lid, soapy water gets under the handle. I can see the sudsy water through the underside of the glass lid and can't get it out. When I heat the pan, everything expands and push the suds out where they drip around the lid's lip and into the pan.

2. On the first use, the inside surface got pitted. I don't know how boiling water can pit a stainless steel pan, but it did. Scrubbing didn't get rid of it.

3. A steam escape hole is between each of the four poaching cups, right by the handles. Because the holes are small, steam shoots out at high pressure. I can't lift the cups out while it's boiling without scalding myself. If I had designed it, I would have put a larger hole in the center, away from the handles.

4. The threaded ball handles on the poaching cups get loose and when I lift out a hot cup, unless I'm very careful, it rotates toward my hand and burns me.

It seems a $60 poaching pan (I bought it locally) should be better designed and made of better materials.

 "Perfect poached eggs!" 2010-01-06
By L. Blight (Chisholm, Mn United States)
I bought this for my husband after buying various egg poaching pans. The eggs would always stick and even with telfon coating on, you had to let it soak/sit for hours and then still scrub! And a microwave one we bought didnt work well either, eggs were either over-cooked or under-cooked. But this pan is sturdy and fanastic and makes literally perfect poached eggs! One down side though was the bottom of the pan after the first use and since shows water boiling marks on it which dont seem to be removable. No marks on the sides or elsewhere, just the bottom of the pan. (if anyone knows how to get rid of the marks, I'd be grateful to hear!)

 "Best Egg Poacher" 2009-12-28
By R. Johnson (Carlsbad, CA United States)
I have tried the microwave egg poachers, but the eggs taste gross after being cooked in the microwave and are not always cooked all the way through. I then purchased an egg poacher pan at a local big box store. The eggs were much better, but the supposed non-stick surface was anything but non-stick. After scrubbing stuck eggs out of the pan, and trying different techniques to make the cups non-stick before cooking, I decided there had to be a better pan. This is it! Out of fear that I would be scrubbing eggs out of the pan I did use non-stick spray the first time I used the pan. The second time I used the pan, I decided the skip the oil. The eggs were still very easy to get out of the pan. I would recommend this pan to anyone who wants to make their own poached egg sandwiches at home.

 "Good Egg Poacher" 2009-08-24
By A. Sather
I really enjoy this egg poacher. I agree with the other reviews, though, regarding the sticking. I spray the bowls with Pam and have no problem, but the one time I forgot, the eggs stuck and were a mess to try to get out. Other than that, I think this is a really good egg poacher. I like the fact that it is dishwasher safe and the handles make it easy to lift out of the tray. They are hot, though, so I have to use a towel or oven mitt, but they cool quickly. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

The egg poacher works as advertised. It makes perfect poached eggs without sticking when you butter the cups. I like that the cups are metal rather than plastic which does not conduct heat as well. The eggs seem to poach faster than my previous egg poacher. I am very happy with the product.
